About place

Was opened in 1979. Its founder Olexandr Mykolyevich Serediuk – was a famous historian and publicist. During many years he gathered relics of Volyn’s past, that became a unique attainment. The exposition, placed in 8 halls of the museum tells a story of villages in Volyn, improvements in agriculture in different periods, nature and ecology of the oblast. Currently, in the outdoor exposition there are monuments of ancient residential, commercial and homestead wooden construction: windmill, two-part house, barn, sauna, cellar, dust house (1875), etc. Rokyniv Museum-skansen offers a wide range of museum services for visitors. That includes, of course, reviewing of the expositions, tours, horse riding, (horseback as well as carting). Here you can practice with ancient tools, taste dishes of Ukrainian cuisine, traditional lunch of Cossacks in the dusty house, sleep in the fragrant hay, swim in the pond.  A school of “Cossack hardening” was established on the basis of the museum, where  the psychophysical training program of soldiers of the Zaporozhian Sich is carried out
