Potocki Palace
Located in western Ukraine, it is one of the three oblasts of the historical and cultural region of Galicia and is known as one of the best urban recreation and tourism in Ukraine.
Thus, the region has created all the necessary conditions: a high level of service, developed tourist infrastructure, the availability of a sufficient number of hotels, restaurants and leisure. There is definitely a place for a connoisseur of the European atmosphere of ancient cities, and a discerning foreign tourist, and for a modest student.
The region receives and serves tourists all year round, including due to the presence of such ski resorts as Slavske, Bukovel and others in the picturesque Ukrainian Carpathians
And this is the most popular destination for recreation during the Christmas and May holidays, because only in Lviv you can see a real Nativity Scene, sing carols and ride a sleigh of St. Nicholas. Lviv is truly the cultural capital of Ukraine and resembles an open-air museum – it houses more than 2,000 historical, architectural and cultural monuments. The ensemble of the historical center of Lviv (Old Town) is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is here that one of the oldest universities in Central Europe and the first university founded in Ukraine is located.
The oldest architectural monuments of Lviv are the High Castle, the Church of St. Nicholas, the Armenian Cathedral, monuments in the Gothic and Baroque styles, and all the buildings on Rynok Square are in fact architectural monuments of the XIV-XVII centuries.
The most famous tourist route in the region is the “Golden Horseshoe of Lviv Region”. It includes Olesky Castle of the XIII-XVII centuries, a chic palace and park complex in Pidhirtsi and the incredible Zolochiv Castle. Sometimes the route also includes Svirsk Castle, which filmed episodes of the famous film “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers” and Starosil Castle.
It is also difficult to avoid the remains of the medieval rock fortress-customs Tustan in the village. Urich, which was part of a network of fortifications that in the Middle Ages guarded the salt roads in the Carpathians.
A significant number of ancient wooden churches have also been preserved in the Lviv region.
In addition to historical and cultural monuments in the Lviv region there are 400 territories and objects of the nature reserve fund, in particular the state nature reserve “Roztochchya”, where the unique bear shelter “Domazhir” operates. And in winter in the Maidan forestry you can see real Carpathian bison.
Also, many natural monuments are located in the National Natural Park “Skolivsky Beskydy”, in particular the waterfall “Gurkalo” – the most famous of the waterfalls in Lviv region, the height of which falls – 5 m.
A special wealth of the Galician land is the large reserves of medicinal mineral waters on the basis of which there are sanatoriums: Velykyi Lyubin, Morshyn, Nemyriv, Rozdol, Skhidnytsia, Truskavets, Shklo. The resort town of Truskavets, where 4 deposits of healing mineral waters of the Naftusya type have been discovered, is known for its healing springs not only in Ukraine but also far beyond its borders
