Rivne region - is located in the northwest of the country, in the north borders with Belarus. The administrative center is the city of Rivne. There is a nuclear power plant in the region.

Rivne region has a good geographical location at the intersection of international highways (E373, E40, E85), proximity to the border with the European Union (EU) (100 km) and the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv (250 km), as well as the availability of an international airport.

Rivne region is a European monopolist of basalt, has large reserves of amber and is a monopolist in its extraction and processing throughout Ukraine.

There are 1761 historical monuments, 352 monuments of architecture and urban planning on the territory of Rivne region. But most of all, tourists are attracted by the family heritage of the princes of Ostroh and Lubomyrsky, who had their possessions and residences in several cities in the region.

In 1576, Prince Konstantin-Vasyl Ostrozky founded the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy in Ostroh, the first higher educational institution in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Here you can also see Ostroh Castle of the XIV century. It was here that Ivan Fedorov’s Ostroh Bible was published.

The pearl of Rivne region is the city of Dubno, with one of the oldest castles in Ukraine with an extensive system of underground passages. Dubno Castle, built by Prince Janusz Ostrozki in the middle of the 17th century on the basis of previously built fortifications in 1492, is one of the seven wonders of Ukraine. During its existence, the castle was never stormed. By the way, the events described in the story of the famous writer Nikolai Gogol “Taras Bulba” took place in this castle and the city of Dubno.

7 km from Dubno is another “tourist magnet” – a fort outpost Dubno (Tarakaniv Fort), which is considered a mystical place. This powerful structure was erected to protect the Lviv-Kyiv railway line at the end of the 19th century.

Attractive tourist and excursion objects of the region are also: historical-memorial reserve “Field of the Battle of Brest”, State Museum – reserve “Cossack graves”, Architectural complex “Mysterious dungeons of Rivne” and Park of historical reconstruction “Ostvitsya settlement” on the shores of Lake Corner in the city of Rivne, Narrow gauge railway Antonivka-Zarichne and others.

In addition, Rivne region has a picturesque nature and amazing natural monuments, such as Basalt pillars in Kostopil district and the Tunnel of Love near the village of Klevan. The most beautiful quarry with basalt pillars, which is unofficially called the Island of Love, is located in the tract Yanova Dolina near the village. Basalt. The love tunnel is a naturally arched object about 4 km long, created by thickets of trees and shrubs. It is a favorite place of lovers and foreign tourists
